Eliah Feeding Herself

June 27, 2010

This is from the beginning of June… I’m a bit behind on my posting.  Now, Eliah is getting pretty proficient with a spoon and a fork!  It is so fun to watch her learning new things.  What a joy!

The Month of June

June 25, 2010

With the end of school, then a week of training, then leaving for an almost two-week long vacation, June has flown by!!!  I have lots of pictures, so I’ll probably try to do a couple of posts here and there.  And just to get it all started…This is my cute girl.  She climbed up in the bucket all by herself!   She’s so proud!

In the Back Yard

E loves being outside.  She’s gotten to where she will grab my hand and drag me to the front door and try to open it to go outside.  So I’ll put our shoes on and we take a walk down our road.  She holds my hand the entire way, except when she gets distracted by the rocks in other people’s driveway.  She tries to pick them up, and usually hands me a few to carry for her.  Then when I try to get her out of our  neighbor’s driveway by explaining that we have our own rocks with which to play, she pitches a fit!  She so curious about everything–leaves on the ground, flowers, even clumps of grass in the road!  She also waves to everyone.  It is such a fun time for us (minus the fit)!

Sweet Times

Oh how I love when my girl snuggles with me.  Precious moments!

Whoo Hoo for Math!

June 2, 2010

“Hey, Mom.  How do you find the x-intercepts of a quadratic equation?”

“Nevermind, I found them!”

Newest discovery.  My daughter loves my graphing calculator.  Joy to my little math teacher heart!  :)

This is my favorite picture!  I love watching my husband be a daddy!

Eliah had seen me squat down to be on her level with the goats so she started squatting down too.  So cute!

She loved the goats!

And my favorite family pose from the day!

We had such a great day!  Eliah wanted to check out the other kiddos rather than the animals, but she did seem to like the zebras.  The gorilla was interesting to me.  He was laying down propped up on his elbows like he was watching tv.  Hilarious.  The baby giraffe came over to say hi to us and just amazed us at how HUGE he was…  We’re looking forward to going again!

On Saturday we took Eliah to the zoo for the first time.  She really liked the animals, at least the ones that she noticed.  I think that the petting zoo was her favorite part.  She was very brave and actually got to pet one of the goats.  Here is a few pictures of our trip.

The past few weeks have been a bit of a struggle.  My school got audited and didn’t “pass”, so some things had to change.  The state required that 50% of the staff be “transferred” (though it ended up being around 30% in the end).  My co-workers and I have been on pins and needles waiting to see if we were staying or leaving.  The students have picked up on the stress in the staff and it has been displayed in their attitudes toward those around them.  The end result of the transfer is that several of my friends will be leaving my school at the end of the year while I will be staying.  I am thankful to still be at my school.  I know that God has plans for me there.  I know that I LOVE the students there.  I know that people NEED JESUS there.  Pray with me for my students, the staff that is staying, and the staff that will be moving on.

On another note, we have home visit part of our home study TONIGHT!  These steps toward bringing our son or daughter home seem to be slow but I’m so excited at the thought of having taken another step!
